Bio

Rose Bordett is currently in her last year at SUNY Oswego, pursuing a BFA in Studio Arts. She has concentrations in photography and printmaking, and a minor in economics. She has exhibited work at several local exhibitions including Book Arts ’07 at Cherrywood gallery and the Student Juried Show ’07, both in Oswego, NY. A native of Syracuse, she has shown work at the White Warehouse, in a semi-annual 40below event and at the 2007 New York State Fair fine arts exhibit, where she was given an honorable mention for the photograph, “Monday Morning.” She has two main bodies of continuing work. A series of organic scanograms provides an exploration of color and texture in a uniquely shallowly focused world. The other is an exploration of the metaphorical ideas of cities and mapping. Using drawing, collage, printmaking, and bookbinding these pieces explore her vision of the way we look at the world around us.
